Shade is a concept. An art house. A name cultivated out of a friendship between two creative women of color who saw a void online and in the art world. Shade is currently run out of the Bay Area. Our space is ever changing and uncontainable.

Apryl Fuentes

Writer & Founder
Apryl Fuentes is an editorial writer, copy editor, and cofounder of Shade. Her work includes creative direction, content curation, video direction and visual storytelling. Through a myriad of mediums, Fuentes documents the ever changing world around her in proximity to the identities and spaces she encompasses.
Azha Luckman

Creative Director & Founder
Azha Ayanna Luckman is a multidisciplinary artist, photographer, and creative director of SHADE. Luckman reclaims the gaze that has routinely catered to white or male narratives. She cares about representation of people of color in photography, media, and all visual arts + histories. Centered in these realms, her work creates space for black, queer youth like herself. @azhaayanna
Rewina Beshue

Graphic Designer &
Rewina cultivates her unique visual representations through contemporary and experimental design styles, contributing to the Shade brand with her eye for color and love of abstraction.

Britney Weathers

Experience Producer,
People Manager
Social entrepreneur and creative strategist, Britney Weathers lends her communication background and industry knowledge to the Shade brand. In bridging the gap between artists and major corporations, she provokes change in curating better artistic communities with representation.

An ongoing project that logs and documents the day to day experiences of Azha & Apryl and all their homies. This project came to be after the loss of their good friend and a difficult year, in which memories were super important to have and hold onto. They have since been obsessed with documenting every moment leaving a lasting history of lighthearted moments and nostalgia with friends and family alike.
